In Memoriam: Daniel McCormick

Still can't process that you're gone, Daniel McCormick. I got the news this morning, but it doesn't feel real.

We didn't see each other anymore since he moved away from the area a few years ago, but we still stayed in touch. He called me up out of the blue last year and said he wanted a Vulture King tattoo, and would I design it for him. Of course I would! But...I dragged my feet and never got around to it. He never hassled me about it. I wish I'd finished it for him.
Founding member of Vulture King. Originally a second guitar, then switched to bass. He wrote the music for 'Stitch Down the Seam' and 'Truth Becomes.' Played what he called "slacker bass." Which was his cute way of explaining away his mistakes. Weirdly, he was never a metal guy. Total indie dude. And he loved Smashing Pumpkins.
Yeah... I think this'll take a while to sink in.
I hope you are at peace, my friend. I pray for you and the family and friends you left behind.
